A Residence in Park Hill - Denver, CO
This residence is Naka Designs, LLC's first foray into the on-going Denver trend of residential renovation and remodeling by way of creating a second story private living level over the base of an existing footprint. An outdated, Spanish Colonial Ranch base was used to produce a rather simple though sophisticated mass and a brightly welcoming home and living arrangement. We approached this task with particular care and, consistent with the founding principles of the firm, collaborated with designers Marzena and Robert Rydel who first introduced us to this lively, entertaining and sophisticated client. The family home created by the team (we also introduced the owners to one of our favorite contractors, who specializes in client satisfaction) appears to be harmonious in its presence within the neighborhood; it neither overwhelms nor underutilizes its urban property. The plan is open and functional, the decorative elements are meant to be timeless and without strong reference to historicism. Yet the result is a classically-approached neighborhood-friendly residence replete with porch, formal entrance and lots of room for this growing family. Naka Designs was responsible for the architecture, interior design and furniture consultation for this home.
