A Residence in a Mid-Town Manhattan High Rise - New York, NY
The same dynamic Chicago couple that had commissioned NAKA Designs, LLC for their home at the ArraBelle in Vail Square then came to the firm to re-design a unit within a mid-century modern high rise in Mid-town Manhattan. The design concept was to completely free up the floor space of the residence to create a display gallery for the owner's New York-based collection of contemporary art - while maintaining the functionality needed in an urban home. The kitchen became the focal point, therefore, with the rest of the rooms becoming extremely simple in their aesthetic and the kitchen getting all the attention through the use of a clean, bright and modern façade.
