The Ritz Carlton Club Vail - Vail, CO
If the ArraBelle was intended to have been built over time, comprised of 32 different facades, and built by different owners at varying time periods in both good and hard times - all of which one might expect with a village core; the Ritz Carlton's story line tells of a singular huge Chateau on the distant hill. Designed to appear to have been constructed by one royal family over three distinct periods of prosperity, the Ritz is the quintessence of luxury living. It is the regal mansion divided, the monarchical home broken up into slightly more common units (107 to be precise - 30 of which make up the Ritz Residences Club); but re-furbished - as if the revolution that displaced the original nobility had morphed into its own stately class. Quite the story indeed, the Ritz completes Robert Fitzgerald's distribution of Bavarian prototypes through the Bavaria-inspired town of Vail. The Ritz Carlton is strongly detailed, pale in tone, brave in its interpretation of the Lionshead massing guidelines, and was approved by the town in record time. The ArraBelle had proven that Fitz would deliver what was promised to the community. The Ritz is the latest of his tested vision that this is one, singular, alpine mountain town - and it is based upon and beholden to the original visions of the Founders of Vail.

Adjacent to the newly proposed ski lift up to the mountain, the Ritz Residences will include two, three, four, five and six bedroom properties. The quality of construction and the level of its finish promise to be more than merely opulent. The detail and strict attention to both beauty and fun all declare the project's allegiance to the legendary "Ritz Quality".

Building amenities will include a heated year round pool, a private spa and treatment center, a fitness center, storage lockers, ski lockers, ski valet and if approved as mentioned, a high speed chairlift that will take the guests half way up Lionshead to the base of Chair twenty-six in one of the world's great resorts.

The Ritz-Carlton's first venture in Vail Village, the amenities will also include an interior apparently left behind when the great family of original owners ran off, and will contain a warm and relaxing great room with its roaring fireplace, an intimate library, and a modern addition of a teen room / Ritz kids space. As is appropriate in today's time, the building will also have 24-hour security, a well-heated garage with valet parking, bell and concierge service, ski/boot storage, the above-mentioned outdoor pool, outdoor hot tubs and a roaring ceremonial fire pit. Indeed the place, when completed later this year, will be "fit for a king".
