1401 Wynkoop Street
This eight to twelve story mixed use development, designed while Lowe Enterprises was interested in one of the last open sites in Lower Downtown Denver, was to comprise two large and articulated masses of building sitting upon a full city block of multi-level parking garage.
The Colorado Center
The first phase of the development of the now nearly completed office, retail and theatre complex on Colorado Boulevard, the earlier Colorado Center structures were also the first completed high rise projects where in Robert Fitzgerald's influence over the work of Skidmore, Ownings and Merrill became clearly evident.
The Vail Founder's Park and Garage
This project was the first step in organizing and, in a way, re-inventing the service aspects of one of the world's most well known ski resorts. The Vail Village had always lacked certain amenities which, in the current ski industry, are considered obligatory.
The Mellon Financial Center
Originally named Centennial Plaza, the Mellon Center (since renamed again) was the very first built work of Robert Fitzgerald; assigned to him on his first day at Skidmore, Owings and Merrill in 1981. As a 32-story commercial office building and an addition to a jewel-like building designed by William Muchow, the task seemed daunting to the newly graduated Fitzgerald.
