The Chimney Rock Cabins at C Lazy U Ranch - Granby, CO
C Lazy U Ranch is one of Colorado's most well known and well-loved "Dude" Ranches, achieving, for many years, that hospitality category's highest ratings. Building on a legacy of family vacationing, horse wrangling, stargazing and fireside conversation, the new owners (all long time guests and admirers of the historic place) of this classic ranching spread have also ensured the longevity of its wide-open spaces by way of huge conservation easements. With only 19 lots to be sold over the entire ranch, NAKA Designs, LLC was commissioned to take three of them and turn them into nine turnkey cabins (based upon three simple cabin prototypes) and averaging no more than 3200 s.f. Unlike our typical ranch stewardship projects, this work needed only to augment the existing ranch surroundings and to create simple outdoor-oriented experiences and hence memories of classic cabin living.
The land and the open space, the amenities and the ambiance, the history and the tradition, are all intact at the C Lazy U Ranch. Our cabins will merely extend the tradition and the fun well into the future.
